At least 51% owned and operated by a veteran who
Is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder).
Has full control over the day-to-day management, decision-making, and strategic policy of the
Has the managerial experience needed to manage the business, and
Is the highest-paid person in the company (or can provide a written statement explaining why
your taking lower pay helps the business), and
Works full time for the business, and
Holds the highest officer position in the company
A veteran is defined as an individual who meets at least one of the criteria below:
Served on active duty with the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for any
length of time and didn’t receive a dishonorable discharge.
Served as a Reservist or member of the National Guard and were called to federal active duty
or disabled from a disease or injury that started or got worse in the line of duty or while in
Official U.S. Birth Certificate (This is your government-issued document and should include a certificate number. Hospital-issued certificates or certificates of live birth are not accepted), Certificate of Citizenship, Certificate of Naturalization or Green Card
Driver’s license, State I.D. card or Passport
Proof of established business (at least one of the following)
Business registration certificate
Articles/Certificate of Incorporation, Organization or Partnership
