Billing and Pricing
The pay-as-you-go rate card and how each charge is counted.
Coco HR is usage-based: you pay for what you use, billed monthly through Stripe. This page is the reference for the rate card, what each metric means, and how plans and billing work.
Plans at sign-up
When you sign up, you choose from three options:

The 14-day free trial gives you full access with no credit card. Free Forever means AI usage is free when you supply your own AI key (other metering still applies — see below).
Rate card (source of truth)
These are the current metered rates:

The rate card shown in the app (Settings > Billing) is always the authoritative, live source. If a value here ever differs, trust the in-app rate card.
What each metric means
AI-scored assessment ($4.00 each)
Charged each time an assessment is scored by AI. This is the core of Coco HR — a completed, AI-evaluated candidate report.
Async video submission ($2.00 each)
Charged per asynchronous video answer submitted by a candidate.
Storage ($1.00 per GB-month, first 10 GB free)
Charged for the data you store — resumes, recordings, snapshots, and reports — measured in gigabyte-months. Your first 10 GB each month are free; you only pay for storage above that.
Active applicant ($0.50 per applicant per month)
Charged per active applicant per month. Applicants who are active in a given month count toward that month's bill.
Bringing your own AI key
If you connect your own AI provider key under Settings > AI Settings, the platform's AI cost becomes free — you pay your AI provider directly instead. This removes the platform's AI charge only. Storage, active-applicant, and async-video metering still apply. See Bring your own AI key.
How billing works
- Monthly in arrears — at the end of each billing period you're charged for that period's usage.
- Stripe processes all payments. Coco HR doesn't store your card details.
- Invoices and card management are in the Stripe customer portal, reached from Settings > Billing > Update card / view invoices.
Your plan state
The Billing page shows your current state:
- Free trial — with days remaining.
- Pay-as-you-go active — a payment method is saved.
- Own-key free — you've brought your own AI key.
- Trial expired — add a payment method to continue billed usage.
When a payment is past due
If your trial expires or a payment can't be processed, add or update your payment method under Settings > Billing to continue. Use Update card / view invoices to open the Stripe portal and resolve any outstanding invoice.
Keeping costs down
- Bring your own AI key to remove the platform AI charge.
- Watch Settings > Usage to see storage and AI token consumption.
- Close jobs you've filled and keep your applicant list current, since active applicants are metered monthly.
