Manage Billing and Payment

Add a payment method, view your bill and invoices, and understand your plan state.

Coco HR uses pay-as-you-go billing through Stripe. This guide shows how to manage your payment method and see what you owe. For what each rate means, see Billing and pricing.

Who can do this

Billing lives under Settings > Billing and is available to your Company Admin.

Understand your current plan state

The Billing page shows a status card reflecting one of these states:

Pay-as-you-go activeA payment method is saved and usage is billed monthly
Own-OpenAI-key freeYou've brought your own AI key, so AI usage is free
Trial expiredThe trial ended; add a payment method to continue billed usage

Add or update your payment method

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Select Save payment method and enter your card details in the secure Stripe form.
  3. To change your card later or view invoices, select Update card / view invoices — this opens the Stripe customer portal.
  4. To remove a saved card, select Remove payment method.

Coco HR never stores your card details directly — payment is handled by Stripe.

See what you owe

The Billing page shows:

  • This month's bill — line items for your current usage.
  • Billing history — past charges.
  • A rate card — the current metered rates (also in Billing and pricing).
  • A bring-your-own-key note — a reminder that supplying your own AI provider key makes AI usage free.

How billing works

  • Usage is billed monthly in arrears — you pay at the end of the period for what you used.
  • Charges are processed by Stripe.
  • Invoices are available in the Stripe customer portal via Update card / view invoices.

Reduce your bill with your own AI key

If you bring your own AI provider key (Settings > AI Settings), AI usage becomes free — you pay your provider directly instead. Storage, active-applicant, and video metering still apply. See Bring your own AI key.

Tips

  • Add a payment method before your trial ends to avoid interruption.
  • Use the Stripe portal for anything invoice-related — that's where receipts and card management live.
  • Check Settings > Usage to see storage and AI token usage that feed into your bill.
