AI Assistant
Coco CRM includes a built-in AI assistant that works with your CRM data directly. Instead of clicking through menus, you describe what you want in plain language and the assistant does it — searching records, creating companies, updating deals, or answering questions about your pipeline.
Opening the chat panel
Click the chat icon in the top right of the app. The assistant opens as a right-side panel, so you can keep working with your records while you chat.
What it can do
| Capability | Example |
|---|---|
| Search records | Find companies, people, deals, or any custom object by name, field value, or date |
| Create records | Add new companies, contacts, notes, or tasks from a single sentence |
| Update records | Change fields on existing records ("mark the Globex deal as won") |
| Answer questions | Summarize your data ("how many open deals do we have this quarter?") |
| Multi-step commands | Chain actions ("find Acme Corp and add a follow-up task for Friday") |
Example prompts
- "Create a company called Acme Corp"
- "Show me deals closing this month"
- "Add a note to Globex about the renewal call"
- "Who is the primary contact at Initech?"
- "Create a task to follow up with every lead added this week"
Be specific: include record names, dates, and the fields you want changed. The assistant confirms what it did, and you can follow up in the same thread to refine the result.
Choosing a model
A model picker at the top of the chat panel lets you select which AI model handles your conversation (for example, GPT-4o mini). The default works well for everyday CRM tasks. Behind the scenes, all models are served through Cocolevio's AI gateway — see AI gateway for how routing works.
Chat threads
Each conversation is saved as a thread. You can:
- Start a new thread for a fresh topic.
- Return to earlier threads to review what the assistant did or continue where you left off.
Keeping one topic per thread gives the assistant better context and more accurate answers.
Permissions
The assistant respects your role's access. It can only read and modify the objects and records your role allows — it never grants you more access than you already have. If the assistant says it can't access something, check your role with your workspace admin (see Members and roles).
Troubleshooting
If the assistant returns an error instead of a response, the AI gateway configuration may need attention from an admin — see Troubleshooting.
